Week 16 - What a WILD week!

Image
Wow, looking back on last week it feels like things have changed so much!! But things are going so well and I'm super happy!! :) So I spent the majority of this week (Monday to Thursday) in Martinique with the Soeurs there-- Soeur Cooper, Soeur Hamner, and Soeur Christianson. On Tuesday, we took Soeur Krucher to the airport and said goodbye!! It was such a surreal feeling saying goodbye to her, and it honestly still doesn't feel totally real. But I know I learned a LOT from her and she'll always have a place in my heart! So I'm happy for the time we had together, and excited for the time I get to have now with Soeur Morrell!! :) So some funny stories from Martinique: -We were out contacting in the morning when we stopped outside this one cute house with a super cool garden. We called to the woman inside, who was probably a 60 or 70 year old woman on the phone laughing like a maniac haha!! We stood outside and waited for

Week 15 - Freaking Out a Little Bit!!

Bonjour tout le monde!! This week has been packed with lots of stuff!! It was Sorut Krucher's last week in Guyane, so we spent lots of time visiting old friends and saying goodbye to everybody! It was weird for me the whole week knowing that pretty soon, Soeur Krucher wouldn't be here with me anymore. I am super sad to see her leave because she was truly an AMAZING trainer!! But I feel at peace knowing that I have lots more things to learn from a new companion! But little did I know... I'm going to be training a new sister!!!!!  I don't know much about her yet, just that her name is Soeur Morrell and that she's from Utah!! But I'm super excited to meet her!!  I have to admit that when I got the call on Saturday night that I'd be training, I was quite overwhelmed haha!! I certainly did NOT expect that! So many thoughts were racing through my head and I honestly was really doubting my abilities. I still feel SO new, and having

Week 14 - A Crazy Week (Like Every Week!)

This week has been an amazing one for me!! I've got lots of funny stories to tell you all!! -So on Tuesday, the mission president, Pres. Fisher came to visit us here in French Guiana! It was great to see him and talk to him. He gave me a lot of advice and support that really gave me the determination to press forward. He talked a lot about how the Lord qualifies who He calls, which really helped me. I often feel like I dont have all the skills or capacity I need to really fulfill my calling here as a missionary. I stress myself out over everything we have to do! And with Soeur Krucher going home in one week, I'll likely get a new companion and will kind of lead the area here. So there's a lot of pressure on me, it feels like! But I know that I can accomplish impossible tasks with the help of God. I'm thankful for President Fisher, for his love and concern for us, and for the great counsel he's given me! -On Wednesday, Soeur Krucher and

Week 13 - Phew!

Phew! This week kind of felt like 100 years, but all in all it went well! I'll just jump right in!! :) -On Tuesday, we helped the Famille Vilbrun move! They're a reaallyy cute Haitian couple with an adorable little boy and a baby girl on the way! I love them so much, and I'm super sad because they moved outside of our area, which means only the Elders can visit them now :( But its a good thing for them, theyre moving into a really nice apartment in a pretty good area, so Im excited for them :) Theyre a really good example for me. Soeur Vilbrun actually has the Zika virus, and the doctors were really worried about that being dangerous for the baby. But they are so faithful-- Frère Vilbrun gave her a blessing, and they said they know, without a doubt, that God will protect the baby and heal Soeur Vilbrun also. I could definitely use a little more faith in miracles in my life!  -On Wednesday, we got to use the Elder's bikes in the morning becaus
