Week 56 - I LOVE EVERYONE!!

Image
Hi everyone!! Once again, I had a super wonderful week full of amazing people and experiences!! The highlight of the day on Tuesday was seeing Yvelt, the guy we're teaching who's whole family joined the church a couple years ago. He just got to Guadeloupe and so we started teaching him-- and man, he is SO cool!! We had an incredible lesson with him and the Elder's Quorum president where the Spirit was so strong. It was amazing just watching his concerns being worked out as the spirit touched his heart and taught him so much better than we can. Thursday was another miraculous day. We had a lesson scheduled with our really amazing friend Alex, but he wasn't there. His mom, who is a super tender-hearted and loving older woman, was there though and she started talking about some of the trials she's going through-- her husband is very, very sick and she recently lost two of her children as well. She feels heartbroken and was having a really difficult time f

Week 55 - So Much Fruit!!!

First, a pic from last week - Abymes vs. Lamentin soccer! Bonjour mes amis!! This was a great week! Almost every day this week, someone (whether it be a member, a friend, or just a random person on the street) gave us fruit! Mangos, passion fruits, habricots... way too many for us to eat! So last night we tried figuring out how to make our own juice and use up the fruit, and it turned out really good! I wish I'd taken pictures but I'm sure we'll make some more another time :) Other highlights of the week... -Teaching our friend Sylvia, from Dominica while it was dumping rain outside and she was holding her adorable little baby son in her arms -Our friend Junie is wonderful and always seems to work out her own concerns! We share a scripture with her, and each time she applies it to herself and her own questions and problems. I learn a lot from her about likening the scriptures unto myself. -We taught this really cool guy who has a LOT of knowledge abo

Coucou!! Hello everyone!  We might as well just change P-Day to Tuesday at this point haha, we had it changed again this week due to a holiday! But I hope everyone had a great week. Looks like lots of the seniors back home graduated this weekend, CONGRATULATIONS!!!  For me this week was really good!! It was a fairly eventful week! :) On Monday we saw our friend Alex at the grocery store, which was really fun! We got to catch up a little bit and it's always fun getting to see your amis around town :) On Monday night we had a really good family home evening with the Versailles family! The whole family are members except for one of the older sons, so we talked to him a little about the Gospel and answered some of his questions. He's really cool and interested to learn more about the Gospel and how it's changed his family's life, so we're excited to see how things go moving forward!  On Tuesday we got to teach an AMAZING FAMILY that we met last week!!

Week 53 - Won't you take me to.... ✨ fUnKy ToWn ✨

Salut!!  This week overall was pretty good! Soeur Christianson and I felt like we were in a bit of a funk several times this week. We were facing a couple discouraging things and the opposition was just getting to us a little. But yesterday I read in 2 Nephi 2 about the necessity of opposition, and I re-realized that it's so important to have trials and opposition so that you can learn to appreciate the good. And, when trials come, you always have the choice to effect your attitude and work ethic-- so we decided to not let Satan win and to work our way through the funk-- and it totally worked! We were back to our ol' silly selves after knocking on a couple doors and by the end of last night we were cracking up over dumb things (and even frustrating things like our desks COLLAPSING and all our stuff falling everywhere just before bedtime). My testimony of hard work and just getting out and talking to people was definitely strengthened though-- with the right attitude you can
