Week 34 - GWADA

Image
Hellooo from Guadeloupe!! Holy moly, last week honestly kinda feels like centuries ago!! I don't have tons of time so I'll give you all some main highlights from the week: -We had our last day in Guyane!! It was of course really hard to leave the people and places I love so so much. We spent the day saying goodbye to lots of our friends, which was sad, but I have trust in Heavenly Father that they're in His hands and that everything will be completely fine. -We met some Americans in the airport! They were working in Guyane as space engineers I think. Also, flying for transfers is crazy but I really love that part about serving in the Great Barbados Bridgetown Mission :)  -We were greeted by our beautiful sisters Soeur Christianson and Soeur Hamner!! We went and got bokits (a Guadeloupe speciality, sooo good: it's fried dough with meat and cheese and yummy stuff inside). Soeur Christianson left with Soeur Morrell (had to let my baby fly free, she's all gr

Week 33 - Leaving Guyane in the Rearview Mirror (of the airplane?)

Hi friends!! This was was a russian mountain if I've ever seen one. (lol the french word for roller coaster is montagne russe which literally means russian mountain). It started off with a bit of sad news. We received a call on Tuesday morning with an update from President Fisher, that Frère Moise's body had been found in the river earlier that morning by the firemen. It of course was very, very sad news and it devestated me. But, I had been praying to at least have answers about him, so I'm thankful to be able to have some closure. In addition to that, his wife is now hospitalized. She's 6 months pregnant and began having contractions. So for now, her young daughter is staying with another member while Soeur Moise is being taken care of in the hospital. I'm thankful that she'll at least be in good care and that her needs will be met physically. Even though the week started off hard in that way, Haevenly Father truly blessed Soeur Morrell and I with some

Week 32 - I Love You All!!

Hello friends n family!! This was a very abnormal week actually. A lot of things happened, so I'll just get right into it! Tuesday : We had a car accident!! We were on our way in a ton of traffic to drop off a member, Morgane, who had worked with us that day. We were running a little late for district council that night, so we were in a bit of a rush. Traffic ahead of us was stopped so we were stopping as well, but the car behind us didn't get the memo that everyone ahead had stopped, and he drove right into the back of us! We all screamed and pulled off to the side. Luckily, NO damage to our car and nobody was hurt (thank goodness, because Morgane is pregnant!). The other guy wasn't so lucky though, his car got pretty wrecked. Right when all this was happening, the district leader called us and asked if we have any whiteboard markers for District Council. We don't have any so he asked us to drive to a Chinois really quick to buy some. Haha so I had to tell him

Week 31 - I Never Knew I Was a Sinner

This was quite the week!! First of all, 2018 is behind us and we've begun a new year. Our new year started off in an interesting way, with the zone leaders calling us right after midnight to say Happy New Year when we were fast asleep in the middle of wonderful dreams.... I'm pretty sure the words "I'm gonna kill them....." were muttered out of my mouth haha. To make it even better, when we walked in later that day for District Council, the Elders had put the tiniest primary kid chairs in our spots. We sat in them the whole time just to show them how strong sisters are haha. But, long story short, the Elders have been pushin our buttons a little this week!  On Tuesday as well we were talking to a man, we talked about modern prophets and he very passionately disagreed with is about that. That alone isn't abnormal at all and I'm used to dealing with that, but THEN he started talking about how  any woman who wears pants doesn not belie
