Week 7 - Busy Busy Week!

Image
Happy Monday  everyone!! Hope you've all had a wonderful week and that you're enjoying the summer!! :) This week was really good for me, it was a week full of lots of adventure!! It's been so interesting to see how much of a role the Spirit truly plays in missionary work. I can see God's hand guiding us along almost all the time. Our teaching appointments often fall through, but this gives us an opportunity to go out and find people who are really ready to hear the Gospel. Everything always works out and at the end of the day I look back and I'm in awe of how much the Spirit truly helped us that day. :) This week one of the members, Soeur Sabatine, did lots of missionary work with us! She's a convert and was baptized in Haiti, and she's really sweet. She did some contacting with us and went with us to lots of lessons! I love having members there to bear testimony, they really bring a special spirit to the lessons.  On Thursday , we had a 2 ho

Week 6 - A Week of Miracles!

Image
Wow, this was a really interesting week!! Truly a week full of miracles. Honestly, at the beginning of the week I was feeling a little discouraged. I was struggling with all the walking, struggling to talk to people, and just struggling to get motivated. On top of that, I came down with a cold. I got a little too in my own head and was just feeling bad for myself haha. But that definitely changed!!! I prayed a LOT to have more motivation, more confirmation that this is where I'm supposed to be, and just for some comfort. It took a couple days, but then the blessings came pouring in!!! A funny experience first though, that happened earlier in the week: We were doing some door to door contacting in an apartment complex, and guess who we ran into-- that's right, the woman who followed us the week before! Apparently she lives in the complex, and she was there with her door open as if she was waiting for us. We just said hello and tried to walk past her as quickly as pos

Week 5 - Living it up in FG!

Hello hello everybody!! Hope you had a great week!! This week for me has been good, it actually went fairly fast! Im starting to get into the groove of missionary work and am beginning to feel a little more comfortable. The French is still hard for me, but I improve a little bit every day and Im slowly starting to understand people more. Sometimes I randomly start thinking in French which has been fun! Im excited to have my first French dream, thats a big milestone for the missionaries here haha :) We are still doing lots of contacting and lots of walking! My feet are taking a bit of a beating  and they have some funky tan lines from my shoes haha! I also have a great sunburn on my legs thats a little bit painful, but its gotten better over the past few days! All this walking is hard but its good for me, lots of exercise! I can feel myself getting healthier, which has been a blessing for sure! Some of the highlights from this week: -Playing sports with our friends! (no

President and Sister Fisher tour

The BBM has a new mission president and wife, and they have been making a tour of the mission. We've been watching them posts pics of all the different places and waiting patiently to see Soeur Gardner! They finally made it to French Guiana and posted a few pictures. So fun to see her looking so happy and healthy.

Week 4 - Guyane Francais (French Guiana or FG)

Wow!!! This past week or so has been the craziest of my whole life! Im also typing on a french keyboard, which is a little tricky, so sorry for any typos here :) So Ill start from where I left off last time- in the MTC! My last few days there were so good but also really sad. I grew so close to my district, my teachers, and my zone. It was really hard to say goodbye! On our last day there we went to the temple and had a jam session with some other girls who were playing the ukulele, it was really fun! Sunday  night we had an amazing devotional-- all 12 of the apostles were there! Elder Cook spoke to us. It was one of the most spiritual experiences ever, it was so great to see them and feel their love for the missionaries! :) I also got to meet my new mission president, pres. Fisher, in the MTC! He and his wife are soo so nice, Im excited to get to know them better! I love them already! On Monday  morning I flew out to Barbados with another Sister who will serve on the E
