Week 76 - My last transfer begins!!

Image
Hi friends!! This was a really great week. I got to work with another sister, Sister Fiso, in the other area in Barbados and it was so much fun! Sister Fiso and I came out to the field together and I was thankful I got to spend some time with her :) We spent a lot of the exchange contacting in this great neighborhood where we met a lot of super fun people!! We got to help some older people bring their groceries in, met a very cute old lady and her even older mom who had just had a birthday, and got let in by a really nice couple and given juice and scones. We also got to visit one of their friends who had just been baptized last weekend, he is SO cool and I loved getting to teach him! Sister Fiso is a WONDERFUL sister and she has tons of awesome ideas that I wrote down to apply. We really had a blast!  I got some exciting news that I'm actually going to be transferred over to that area for my last transfer!! Both Sister Fiso and her companion are going together to Saint Luc

Week 75 - Livin' the Bajan Life

HELLO everybody!! This week FLEW by!! We had exchanges with the wonderful sisters from Grenada, Sister Abitan and Sister Fauver, and we had so much fun that the time just went so fast!!  HIGHLIGHTS: This group of four youngish men called out to us from the street as we were walking and said, "Hey come look at out pet monkey!' At first we were a little weary of them but felt it'd be okay to go look from a distance, and turns out they really did have a little pet monkey in their tree named Burglar haha! There are wild monkeys that we see running around from time to time too that are super fun to see! I haven't been fast enough to catch a picture but I'll try! I found out one of our friends has lots of family in Guadeloupe and she speaks a little french! It was so fun talking to her about Guadeloupe and speaking some french together :) She's a friend that we've been doing quite a bit of service for and we love helping her out! Sister Fauver

Week 74 - Cheese on bread..... Welcome to Barbados!!

HELLO all my friends! I feel like SO much has happened this week and I have to get used to typing on an American keyboard again which is fun haha! The beginning of this week was pretty sad. I left behind a place and people I came to love with all I have, and saying goodbye wasn't at all easy. It was also hard leaving French behind... I was holding it all in pretty well until I said my last prayer in French as we were leaving our apartment to the airport, and I couldn't keep myself from crying a little bit. Taking off from the island was also a really hard part, but I saw a rainbow which made me really happy! Seeing rainbows in Guadeloupe was one of my favorite things, so seeing one last one was really special :) Getting into Barbados was crazy but so fun!! It was a bit of a whirlwind-- we had Zone Conference the day after I got in and we got to do a presentation, which was kind of nerve-racking doing in front of missionaries that I don't really know but it went pret
