Week 12 - A really rewarding week!!

This week has been super busy full of some interesting and awesome experiences, so Ill just jump right into it!  -On Monday we visited a space museum here in Guyane! The European Space Agency has a space center here, so we got to see the musuem! I didnt understand hardly anything because it was all in french, but I still thought it was a great experience :) -On Tuesday, there was a little earthquake! Apparently it started in Venezuala, but we definitely felt it here! We were in a lesson with somebody during it, which was also interesting. Shed been experiencing some really bad pain in her knees, but after the earthquake, she said she felt better and that the earthquake was God healing her! I dont know, just thought that was an interesting experience/miracle to share :) -I got a parking ticket!! :( Luckily it wasnt too expensive, but I can no longer say Ive never gotten a ticket haha. It was a bummer, but its all good!! not too big of a deal :) -I got a really gnarly bru

Week 11 - An Eventful Week!

This has been a really exhausting week, but also a really great one for me. I've been able to get more confirmation that this is truly where the Lord wants me to be, and I'm slowly starting to feel like an instrument in His hands! We had quite a few lessons this week, but a LOT of them fell through, so we got to do a good amount of contacting!! We met lots of great and funny people, ya gotta love the people here in French Guiana :) We were led to several people who really seemed to be looking for something in their life or who were going through a hard trial, and I know God is placing them in our parth for a reason. We got 2 new missionaries in French Guiana this week, and 4 missionaries left! So we're down to just a group of 6 now instead of 8-- our sectors got bigger because of this, which has been a bit stressful, but we're getting the hang of it!! We also were able to do a Videochat Zone Conference with the missionaries serving in Barbados, that was a gr

Week 10 - I Get to Stay in FG!!

Hello all!! This week has been a pretty good one! I found out for sure that I get to stay here for one more transfer with Soeur Krucher, and I'm so excited! This is Soeur Krucher's last 6 weeks in the mission field, and she's dedicated to making the most of it, so we've been busy doing lots of teaching and contacting!! :) We definitely felt God's hand in the work this week. We were able to cross paths with some really amazing people, and were guided to see those who really needed an extra boost of happiness. We felt prompted to visit a less active woman in the ward, and when we stopped by she told us that her sister-in-law had just passed away from cancer. I felt so strongly that God truly guided us to see her in this moment. We were able to give her an uplifting thought and just spend some time with her in this difficult time. She lives alone, I think all her children and family live in France, and she doesn't really have anyone here in French Guiana. But s

Week 9 - A Week of Unfortunate (and hilarious) Events!

Hello all!!! I hope you've enjoyed the week!  This week for me has been really good! We've had time to do a lot of contacting and have also had several really amazing lessons. We had an incredible lesson with an older man named Charles  on Tuesday . He already seems to have a lot of love for the Book of Mormon and is really hungry to know the truth and the fulness of the Gospel!! I felt the Spirit so so strongly in that lesson, Soeur Krucher and I did a happy dance with the member who came with us, Soeur Virginie, on the way out of the apartment complex haha :) The rest of the week was good, we found quite a few really cool people who we had some great discussions with.  Saturday  was the really interesting day though... It actually started  on Friday  night when our power went out in the middle of the night. No power means no AC, which made it really hard to sleep well because it was like a sauna haha. Luckily the power came back on in the early morning though, so

At the Zoo                                                            Exchanges in Martinique                                                                  Made in Detroit! This week was a bit of a roller coaster for me! I'm wrapping up my first transfer here in French Guiana already, I can't believe it! Time is really starting to fly by now and I'm realizing that before I know it, I'll be back home again... so I'm really trying to take advantage of every day I have here. Even though it's hard and sometimes I don't feel like I'm really giving it my all, I'm truly learning SO much. Last Monday, we went to the zoo!!! I looooved it, they had lots of cool jungle animals like sloths, monkeys, panthers, turtles, snakes, and really beautiful birds! The path going through the zoo takes you right through the middle of the rainforest on these bridges in the trees, it was probably one of the coolest things I've ever experienced. I felt
