Week 10 - I Get to Stay in FG!!

Hello all!! This week has been a pretty good one! I found out for sure that I get to stay here for one more transfer with Soeur Krucher, and I'm so excited! This is Soeur Krucher's last 6 weeks in the mission field, and she's dedicated to making the most of it, so we've been busy doing lots of teaching and contacting!! :)

We definitely felt God's hand in the work this week. We were able to cross paths with some really amazing people, and were guided to see those who really needed an extra boost of happiness. We felt prompted to visit a less active woman in the ward, and when we stopped by she told us that her sister-in-law had just passed away from cancer. I felt so strongly that God truly guided us to see her in this moment. We were able to give her an uplifting thought and just spend some time with her in this difficult time. She lives alone, I think all her children and family live in France, and she doesn't really have anyone here in French Guiana. But she told us that we're her family and that we help her feel loved and at peace. I'm really grateful we were led to her and that she can feel God's love for her though us!!

I don't have many crazy stories to tell this week, but I just want to bear my testimony to you all that I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is truly God's church on the Earth today. I know that it was restored through Joseph Smith and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, along with the Bible. My love for the Book of Mormon has truly skyrocketed while I've been here, and I know that as we apply its teachings to our lives, we can overcome absolutely any struggle we face. We can find peace and come closer to Christ. I know that God hears our prayers, that He is literally our Father and that He wants to hear from us. He will guide us throughout our day as long as we live worthy of His Spirit. I know Heavenly Father loves each of us SO much, and that's why I'm here preaching the Gospel in French Guiana. I love this Gospel and I love sharing it with others!

    Belief is the reason we go on a mission. It is the motive for preaching about Christ and sharing/Proclaiming his love. Faith is understanding we are children of God and our Heavenly Father. May this defined and explained and Meaning of faith bless you on you in life. Faith is defined again and because faith has an inherent joy it gives us a solid foundation that we finally have the peace we have been searching For. \

    Heaven is a place where everyone is celebrated, some are more honored but everyone is celebrated. All men and all women shall be judged on the light which they have received. Heaven is a permissible culture. God's nature is eternally permissible. These statements protect us from credit.

    Now we can act as we have always dreamed. Now we can act as we have always been. Now we can step into the light and gather the sunlight instead of blocking out our possibilities. Instead of blocking out our joy. Variety will bloom in/under the sun. We can show off our best, we can enjoy other people's gifts. We can blossom where we stand upon the joy that faith provides us. Upon the joy that faith inherently has, which blossoms the entire field of flowers"

Pre-mission preparations

Soeur Gardner got on a plane a few hours ago, and now it's time to update her blog with all of the pre-mission preparations! February: Call received, started preparations for her visa, studied all we could about the French regions in the Caribbean March: Visa paperwork turned in, went through the Provo City Center temple for endowment April: Finished up the semester at BYU and traveled home for a few weeks May: This is where it got kind of crazy, so we will detail this! The first big event in May is that Morgan's best friend, Jacob, left on his full-time mission to Arizona. We love Jacob and wish him all the best as he serves the people there. Week 36 - Salut!!

Salut!!! ça va?? Hope everyone had a great week as usual! Island life here in Guadeloupe is going pretty dandy! It started off really good with an awesome district council on Tuesday about the Spirit and revelation. It's incredible that each and every one of us, as children of our All-Knowing Heavenly Father, have the right and privelage to receive answers, guidance, and comfort directly from Him? On Tuesday we had almost an entire day of contacting out in the sun, and it was AMAZING!! We talked to a lot of people that were really cool and interested. We made a run to Burger King for dinner and there was a super adorable little girl there that I played hide and seek with while we waited for our food. On Thursday we taught a lesson to a really amazing woman, and her little 6 month old grandbaby was there. Man oh man was it hard to stay focused during that lesson, that baby was cuuuuttee!! Week 78 - Heeeeyyy, white people!! WHITE PEOPLE!!! WHIIITTEE!!

Helloooo everybody!!  This was a really happy week because we got to get out of that house and do missionary work!! Sister Pennell got cured, and I was spared from the plague so that meant we got to talk to lots of people and enjoy being missionaries :) We got struck by a power outage this week and had to search for neighborhoods at night time that had lights on so we wouldn't be out in the darkness. We did work in the area book by flashlight and I grew more appreciation for actually having electricity haha. Miracles happen, though, because the power came back on before we had to go to sleep with no A/C  This has been a week of lots of contacting, which is awesome! President Fisher invited us to share the First Vision with 20 people every week, so we had to learn how to tie that into contacting more.
