Week 60 - The sweetest people in the whole world!!

This week I was reminded that I truly am surrounded by the sweetest people ever here in Guadeloupe. Here's just some of the super sweet people we interacted with this week...

1) Junie, our recent convert, has been struggling with some stomach pain and just making ends meet for her family. But her faith is SO strong in God and she finds a lot of strength in the covenant she just made with him. She's just angel and lights up our day every time we see her!!

2) Vanessa (Junie's daughter) accepted to be baptized this week! I'm not exaggerating when I say how INCREDIBLE she is. She reads and understands scripture, asks deep, meaningful questions, has a personal relationship with her Savior-- she is so ready to be baptized on August 3 and we can't wait!! Getting to teach her has been so wonderful so far

3) The really sweet man with long silver hair who picks up the trash every morning in the park. He greets us with a "bonjour" every time we go running in the morning. Recently we spoke to him a little about the Gospel and he responded really well-- he said he wants to come closer to God. So We're excited to see where that goes!

4) Another super cute little man that gives us the HUGEST, whitest smile and a wave every time we drive by as he works on building his house on our way home

5) Sweet "mademoiselle Nathalie" (she wants us to call her "mademoiselle" even though she's in her 70s or 80s hahaha) who we met sunbathing out by the bay. She gave us a tour of her house and showed us lots of pics of her family (vintage pics of families in the Carribean have become one of my favorite things). Then we went back out to the bay and she put her Book of Mormon in this tiny little purse to carry it back out for our lesson. She's so so cute :)

6) Christian, a nice, happy friend that we met while contacting! He sings at kid's parties and let us hear him sing as well (it was quite the honor). Then he showed us his garden, called himself Tarzan, and gave us some passion fruits and star fruits and a leaf that smelled really good :)

7) Soeur Victor came with us teaching and made us a little cake, and she's an angel <3

8) Soeur Kitchen is so sweet, so ready to help and jump in to trying new things. Learning French and being a new missionary is really hard, but she's learning crazy fast and has been such a trooper. I've loved these past couple weeks with her!!

Hopefully you all had a really good week too! Love you all lots and lots :)

Bisous,
Soeur Gardner
