Welcome to Sister Gardner's missionary blog! She has been called to serve in the Barbados Bridgetown Mission, Guadeloupe Region and will be speaking French.

Here is a mission map. As a French-speaking missionary, she may serve in Guadeloupe, Martinique, and Guyane.

Week 25 - Wanderers in a Strange Land... 'C'est Nous!!!

Bonjooouuurrr!! Happy belated Thanksgiving to everybody and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!  This was a very good week! We had lots of fun things going on! On Wednesday we had a branch coordination meeting with the branch president, the mission leader, and the branch missionaries (who are two of the branch's recent converts, Soeur Raena and Frère Moise; sooo cool!). President Francillette had us read the dedicatory prayer from when Guyane was dedicated for missionary work long long ago in the 1900s (haha it was like the 80s or 90s). But it was so cool to read the promises that Russell M Ballard, the apostle who gave the blessing, gave to this area. It mademe feel so blessed to be a missionary in this unique part of the world. We talked about working with the branch to push the work forward and keep progressing towards stakes, wards, and a temple one day!! Pre-mission preparations

Soeur Gardner got on a plane a few hours ago, and now it's time to update her blog with all of the pre-mission preparations! February: Call received, started preparations for her visa, studied all we could about the French regions in the Caribbean March: Visa paperwork turned in, went through the Provo City Center temple for endowment April: Finished up the semester at BYU and traveled home for a few weeks May: This is where it got kind of crazy, so we will detail this! The first big event in May is that Morgan's best friend, Jacob, left on his full-time mission to Arizona. We love Jacob and wish him all the best as he serves the people there. Sometime in the middle of May (3 weeks before she was to leave), I heard from a mom in the Facebook group for the Barbados mission that she would need a face-to-face consulate visit in order to obtain a visa for the French regions, otherwise she may end up being a visa waiter. Week 80 - Love wunna

aa Good morning everyone! (PS. Wunna is Bajan for "you guys") Another week of hard work COMPLETE!! Can't believe how quickly time is flying by. Good thing I got really sunburned this week because I'm going to be in the snowy cold again in just a little over a week now  This week started off with my very last Zone Conference.... I felt like kind of an emotional wreck the whole time haha. As soon as Sister Pennell and I walked into the room, all the Elders stood up for us as we sat down, and then President Fisher gave us some amazing counsel and I feel like I got a lot of inspiration for not just until the end of my mission, but also a lot of things that will bless me when I'm back home as well.
