Week 47 - Hallelujah!!

Wowie! Even though it hasn't even been a full week since I last emailed, it feels like lots has happened!

We had a super good week here in Guadeloupe!
On Tuesday night, we got to have the awesome experience of going with one of our friends to his church! It was Evangelist-- it was my very first time ever attending a service at another church, and it truly was a cool experience. We started off all standing up and singing lounges (hymns of praise) along to the band, which was probably the highlight of the whole night. Singing praises to God with a bunch of Guadeloupean mamies is now going down as one of my favorite hobbies haha :) Then we got to listen to a pastor talk about how we must love, forgive, and judge in the way that God wants us to, which was good as well! All in all it was pretty awesome and I'm super thankful I got the experience to go!

On Wednesday we mostly contacted all day in the rain and then went to a members' house that night for dinner. It was with the Désir family-- basically the most adorable humans on earth. Frère Désir is literally the cutest older Haitain man you can imagine. He did eenie-meenie-minie-mo to choose who to say the prayer and also called us his princesses. Hahaha I can't even put into words how amazing he is. We got to work with him and Soeur Désir later this week too to teach our friend Richardson about temples, geneology, and eternal marriage-- it was about the sweetest lesson I've ever been a part of haha :)

Another HUUGGEE miracle this week: ALBIE IS GETTING BAPTIZED THIS SATURDAY!! Again, I can't even put it into words but Albie is one of the most prepared and wonderful people I've met. When we first met him a couple months ago, we had no idea how willingly and faithfully he would accept and apply the Gospel in his life. He has made INSANE changes in just a matter of a few weeks, has come back to church for the first time in a loonnnggg time, is having dreams about the Book of Mormon-- and also cracking us up every time we talk to him. Some Albie highlights this week....
-He showed us some pics from Dominica (Quick side note, when I talk about Dominica I'm not talking about the Dominican Republic, but another island that speaks English not too far from Guadeloupe). It's BEAUTIFUL!!
-Listening to the talk President Nelson gave at the priesthood session at the most recent conference with him, and hearing Albie talk afterwards about how many of the things the prophet said really touched him
-Drinking his homemade plaintain juice
-Him teaching us how to cut aloe vera straight out of the ground and then use it as a face mask
-Him miraculously finding his own ride to church like 2 minutes before sacrament meeting started because the member that was supposed to take him cancelled very last minute
-Getting his baptism planned!!!!!
-Finding out he loves watching kid shows, including Disney channel hahaha

Basically we love Albie a lot and I CAN'T WAIT to tell you all about his baptism!!! :D

Love you all tons and hope you have a great week!!

Gros bisous,
Soeur Gardner

Here's a couple throwback pictures because I didn't take any new ones this week.... sorry!!! :(
